The First International Congress: The cultural and natural heritage as an engine of development will be held at the University of Jaén on 26, 27 and 28 January 2011 Project is part of the Campus of International Cultural and Natural Heritage is promoted by ten public universities in Spain.

The cooperation of the ten public universities in Andalusia has the ultimate objective of achieving a Campus of International standard in the areas of knowledge linked to the Cultural and Natural Heritage, improve training opportunities, research, innovation, employability and quality of life people who study and work in these universities, as well as contributing to socioeconomic development of the territory where they are located, in particular by promoting the generation of economic activity around the existing heritage resources.

In this sense, conscious of the need to find news process of economic and social momentum and the importance of research and innovation to achieve these objectives and the future Spain, the Congress is a firm commitment from the universities to make the cultural and natural heritage a source of wealth Andalucía and spearhead research and innovation in this field.

The Congress, which was founded with the intention of continuing and is expected to become a reference forum for researchers, companies and authorities in the areas of knowledge linked to the Cultural and Natural Heritage at the international level, is held biennially at different locations of Andalusian public universities that are part of the project.
